    Dashel Hernández Guirado
    (Camagüey, Cuba 1977)

    Dashel Hernández Guirado is a visual artist and writer. His most recent work explores personal and collective memory in Cuba in the 1980s from the perspectives of nostalgia, postmemory, and countermemory. He has published the poetry books Meditaciones (Ácana, 2015); Iluminaciones (Homagno, 2020); and El ancho río del silencio (Selvi, 2020). Dashel has a Master's degree in Public Administration from Syracuse University and a Bachelor's degree in Sociocultural Studies from the University of Camagüey, Cuba.
