    Jorge Luis Porrata
    (Camagüey, 1975)

    Jorge Luis Porrata is a poet, artist and educator, and illustrator at the Homagno publishing house, which brings together Cuban writers and artists residing inside and outside the island, grouped around the National Prize for Independent Literature. What the Animals Had to Say / Que dijeron los animales (Homagno, 2013) is his first bilingual book of fables, and his master’s thesis in art from the University of Arizona includes ten metal engravings. He currently resides in Portland, Oregon, where he has been since 2014.
