    Synopsis:

    A conversation with Jorge Calaforra, co-founder of the project Estado de Sats (together with Antonio Rodiles) and founder of the blog Foresight Cuba. Jorge Calaforra is the son of Gabriel Calaforra, a former Cuban functionary, who served as a diplomat during the early 1960s before becoming an opposition figure who used her home as a meeting place for political and cultural gatherings. Jorge Calaforra shares his experience as a son, activist and blogger, who in recent years has dedicated himself to dismantling the narratives of the Cuban government through the use of data and statistics using the Foresight Methodology. Calaforra shares his vision of the limitations and internal problems that the dissidence and opposition in Cuba have faced.

    Bio:

    Jorge Calaforra is a mechanical engineer and graduate of the CUJAE. In Poland, he supervised the construction of two combined cycle power plants (117 and 257 MWe), as well as the assembly of the Siemens V64.3 gas turbine. He directed the construction of a foam factory that produces 2 million mattresses a year valued at 25 million dollars and has been granted the building permit for a HDF factory with an investment of 160 million dollars. Calaforra holds a graduate degree in Foresight and Risk Analysis, as well as in Six Sigma Green Belt. In March 2013 he founded the projects Estado de SATS and Foresight Cuba.
